Air Quality Monitoring Initiative

This initiative aims to transform the way we monitor, analyze and address air pollution.

Project Overview

Understanding Our Air

In today's world, the quality of the air we breathe is becoming increasingly important due to its impact on health and the environment. We aim to explore the significance of air quality monitoring and the tools and techniques used to assess and improve air quality.

Our Mission

Leveraging state-of-the-art sensors and real-time data analytics, the system will continuously track air pollution levels, identifying sources of pollution and assessing the impact on public health.

The Global Challenge of Air Pollution

  • Scope: Air pollution is a critical global health concern affecting 99% of the world's population.
  • Impact: It leads to approximately 7 million premature deaths annually.
  • Household Exposure: Alarmingly, 2.4 billion individuals are exposed to hazardous levels of household air pollution.
  • Key Threat: PM2.5 (particulate matter ≤ 2.5 micrometers) is a primary health risk, directly absorbed into the bloodstream upon inhalation.
  • Health Consequences: PM2.5 exposure is linked to severe illnesses including stroke, heart disease, lung disease, and cancer.
SOLUTION

Project AQMI seeks to provide robust, real-time monitoring and management capabilities to mitigate the effects of air pollution.
